Trailerpark DVD

A feature film produced by the School of Media Art & Studies

Trailerpark follows a year in the lives of the quirky residents of a rundown trailer park in rural Ohio. There is the newest resident, who confuses guinea pigs with plants, the town hippie who confuses plants with a ticket to ride, and an alcoholic angler who holds the park’s only true winning ticket—or does he? There is the sole black resident who covets his neighbor’s wife, the retired military man who keeps his binoculars by his window, and the also watchful owner of this lakeside settlement who worries about losing her tenants.
Alternately dark and humorous, Trailerpark deals deftly with the dynamics of a community on the outskirts of society. It was produced by 70 students from Ohio University, most of them from the School of Media Arts & Studies. The Cleveland Examiner wrote: Trailerpark is “really good, not simply inspiring because of what these students accomplished. This is not meant to minimize the inspiring story of its creation, just that this is now a feature film that displays a degree of professionalism and cinematic sensibility that any independent filmmaker would be proud of.”
